The SFS Career Center provides services to nearly 1,000 students in the nine SFS graduate programs as well as graduate students from the four Government Department programs. We offer a variety of services to employers interested in recruiting graduate students for internships and part- or full-time employment. Flagship Events
Our Flagship Events, including career fairs and our annual networking social, provide premier opportunities for employers to connect with student leaders across industries in a vibrant, community-driven environment.
- Career Fairs: Meet with students across campus in a variety of career fairs: Annual Georgetown Univ. Career Fair; International Affairs Career Fair; Intelligence Community Career Fair; Government, Education, and Non-Profit Career Fair.
- Networking Social: The SFSCC hosts our major annual networking event every year at Georgetown University! Represent your employer at this social for food, music, and fellowship with young professionals and scholars.
Signature Programs (Early Semester)
Our Signature Programs connect students with your organization through recruitment, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities, designed specifically for organizations most in-demand, engaged, and influential for our students, our industry and our communities.

What is Handshake?
Handshake is the #1 talent marketplace platform that seamlessly connects employers with 7,000 undergrads and 10,000 grads at Georgetown. It provides job and internship opportunities, and also facilitates flagship event registration and signature program participation. By centralizing these efforts, Handshake helps our center bridge the gap between top talent and meaningful opportunities, fostering engagement between employers, students, and alumni.

Handshake Guidance
Our most engaged students are leveraging the platform to apply for jobs, internships, and fellowships across all sectors, with opportunities ranging from entry-level to mid and some senior positions. To advertise your jobs and internships to more, create an account on Handshake. We offer support to many employers in global affairs navigating the platform.
Jobs & Events Marketing
We offer comprehensive marketing services for qualifying organizations and opportunities —such as newsletter promotions, social media outreach, and access to career coaches and programs—that help employers connect with top-tier talent in international affairs.
- The Career Bulletin (CB): Our Career Bulletin is an effective newsletter that promotes job opportunities and events directly to graduate students and recent graduates.
- Social Media Marketing: Through Instagram and LinkedIn, we actively market opportunities and events helping employers reach a broader audience.
- Access to Coaches and Programs: Benefit from direct connections with our career coaches and academic programs, gaining insights to strengthen your employer brand.

Site Visits & Tours
The SFSCC will coordinate directly with you to arrange a small group of students for an in-person or virtual tour of your workplace. This allows students to experience your organization firsthand and interact with your team. It’s an excellent opportunity to showcase your company culture and offer a day-in-the-life perspective for students interested in your industry.
