Camille Grayson
Assistant Director of Employer Outreach and Alumni Relations
Hi, SFS Community!
I’m Camille Grayson - “Your Talent Advocate.” I have the wonderful pleasure of serving as the Assistant Director of Employer Outreach and Alumni Relations. My vision is to provide students and alumni access to career opportunities that align with their values, support their well-being, welcome their culture, and cultivate their professional community. I look forward to heading-up the best in-class employer events with the goal of offering students & alumni first-hand information on internships, jobs, and fellowships across industries for regional, national, and international jobs. My personal mission is to foster our community’s developmental experiences and grow its professional network to further the Walsh School of Service’s production of exceptional, impact-driven thought leaders and experts in a competitive global workforce.
Now…a little about me…
I was first introduced to Career Development & Talent Acquisition at 13-years-old. My grandmother was a long-time Career Counselor at a high school in my hometown, Baltimore. Every school year, I’d help her review student applications for work study & camp counselor roles. I'd take each student’s trade, grade level, interests, & skills into account & assign each student to their work study or camp counselor role. I made a quick study of my grandmother as I watched her build community - whether she was advising students & parents, networking with local businesses, or engaging teachers & principals. I accredit this experience in my youth for planting the seed that would later lead me to pursue a career in Recruitment.
Prior to joining Georgetown, I worked in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition for 8 years, primarily across the private sector, in manufacturing, environment, technology and healthcare as my core business industries. I’ve recruited professionals covering a multitude of areas, including accounting & finance, legal, news, marketing, sustainability, and policy. I’ve experience recruiting across geographies regionally, nationally, and internationally. The combination of this experience has nurtured my knowledge of an ever-changing and fast-moving employer market.
To say the least, joining the Career Center at the Walsh School of Foreign Service feels like a full-circle moment connecting all my life experiences, both personally and professionally. I am highly motivated and energized to put it all to the test along this adventure.
I'm a proud graduate of Howard University. (H-UUU, you know!), where I obtained my Bachelor’s in Journalism. I've my Master’s in HR Management from Georgetown University, School of Continuing Studies (Hoya Saxa!). In my personal time, I enjoy creative writing, riding my bike, roller skating, photography, & playing with my virtual reality headset. I have a variegated Border Fancy Canary for a pet & his name is 9ine.
I look forward to meeting and connecting with you!
